Membership

On July 1 2025, U3A Ballarat changed its database management environment  from MyU3A to Member Wizard. This means some changes to the way in which new enrolments and renewal of membership occurs.

New and existing members, will need to register their details within the Member Wizard system by going to this  Member Portal link and using the email address used in your existing contact details. A code will be sent to your email address. If you share an email address, use the option of Member Number after you hit the “Register” link on the Member Portal. You will have to create a new password when first registering for the Member Portal, Your MyU3A password will not work.

Membership Fees
Membership fee:  Full member $60
Associate Member (current member of another U3A – proof required)  $30

Becoming a Member
Complete the online enrolment form.(please click this link)

You will be asked to provide your contact details and organise payment. You will be then be placed in in the pending member category until approval processes are completed at the next U3A Ballarat Committee. However, you can still select classes in which to enrol whilst you are in “pending” status. Once your membership is approved, the Class Tutor will manage the class list. If there is no space currently, you will be placed on a wait list.

Please note: During the December enrolment window, the arrangements are slightly different. If enrolling online, all class appear to be full. This is not actually the case. This allows all prospective enrolments are placed on a waiting list so that class sizes and pre-requisites for classes that have such, can be managed.  Tutors will commence allocating members into classes after Friday Dec 5. Please be patient. Everyone is a volunteer and we rely of Tutors to make time in their lives outside of the U3A teaching and learning (and laughing) year to manage this task.

On Wait Lists
Most classes that are considered full will invariably have some vacancies during the year as circumstances for members can change due to health issues, extended holidays or family commitments. Tutors manage the waitlist for their classes.

Please note:
Annual membership is January 1 to December 31. The cost is $60.00 regardless of when you join (no pro-rata fee).
You can enrol for classes up to the end of October of the current year.
Enrolment in classes for following year open in early December. You will receive information  on this prior to December.
Classes for the next calendar year begin in the first week of February.

Renewing Members
Login to your Member Portal to complete the renewal process. Please remember you to use the email address you registered with U3A Ballarat or, in the case where a couple have the same email, use your membership number. A text message will be sent to your phone with a code to confirm your identity. (It is important your contact details are up to date.)

You can complete an online payment of the membership fee by credit/debit card  using the Stripe system that works within the ouline system of Member Wizard.

Payment via debit or credit card  or cash can also be made in person at the U3A Ballarat Office, located at Ballarat North Community Centre, 702 Walker St, Ballarat North.  The Office is open:

    • Thursday – 10.00am – 2.00pm
• Please note that you will not be able to attend classes until your membership  is paid.
